    • Citrine is a variety of quartz which typically has a yellow hue - although it can vary from very pale to brown. The color of natural citrine is caused by trace impurities of iron (Fe3+) ions. (
    • Smoky Quartz is a variety of quartz easily recognized from its dark color. The amount of "smokiness" can vary dramatically, with one part of the crystal often being more smoky than another. Smoky quartz frequently occurs well crystallized, suggesting that it formed slowly from aqueous mineral solutions. (
    • Green Topaz gets its color from the presence of trace elements such as chromium. Green topaz is generally very light in color with a vitreous luster and is quite brilliant. It is often transparent and rarely contains visible inclusions. (
